“That was the first lyrical song I ever wrote,” recalled McGee of “What Can I Do.” The lo-fi group harmony ballad was recorded at Midwestern Sound, a modest 30x40 cinderblock studio in the heart of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Backed up by the “The Hatch,” a heavy organ-lead funk instrumental, the TMGs 1967 is available for the first time digitally.
